Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I'm Huang Minfeng, the solo dev behind XReading.
After 15 years of software development (10 years doing iOS at NetEase and Baidu), I quit my job a few weeks ago to build my own apps full-time. XReading is the first result.
What is XReading?
An offline AI text-to-speech reader for EPUB, MOBI, and TXT files. Pick a book, and a natural British voice reads it to you — no internet required, no account needed. Everything happens on-device thanks to SherpaOnnx. Your data never leaves your phone.
Why I built it
I love reading but often don't have time to sit down with a book. Existing TTS voices sounded robotic, and most reading apps push subscriptions or require cloud processing. I wanted something that's private, sounds human, and is free to use.
