Hi PH, maker here. Beluga videos are the Discord chat story format: one message pops at a time, a ding on every beat, a vine boom on the punchline. Thousands of faceless Shorts and TikTok channels run on it. Almost all of them make it the hard way, typing the conversation into a real Discord server with alt accounts, screenshotting every message, and hand-timing the clips in CapCut. Forty minutes for a twenty-second video. Change the pace and you touch every clip. I did that for a while and noticed the joke is never in the text. It is in the pause before the reply. Screenshot tools render a chat. They do not direct a scene. So Dingcut thinks in beats. You type the lines like you are chatting. A rhythm preset (timed from real uploads) sets the wait and hold for every message. You click one line to give it a longer hold, a boom, a zoom, or crickets. That is the whole edit. What else is in there: - Five chat styles from one script. Discord, iMessage, WhatsApp, Telegram, Messenger. One story, two uploads. - Five layouts: popup, stack, feed, notification, split. - 49 sounds synthesized in-house, so exports are clear to use commercially. Upload your own too. - Reactions, typing indicators, joins and leaves, images and cutaways per message. - Rendering runs in your browser with WebCodecs. No upload, no render queue. A 20 second clip exports in a few seconds. That is also why the free tier is real: three exports, no card. The launch video is a Beluga video about making a Beluga video, and every frame of the story is the product's own renderer. The characters ask for iMessage and the whole thing re-skins. Free for 3 videos, then $2.99 a month. Writing and previewing need no account. Two questions for anyone who makes this kind of content: which sound are we missing, and which chat app should be skin number six? The file also has two alternate taglines and four short reply templates for the predictable comments (AI scripts, why browser rendering, Discord affiliation, Safari support).

Write a chat was hunted by Rojan Acharya. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
