Hi Product Hunt! 👋 I built WORLD POP ON to make global population data easier and more intuitive to explore. Population data is often presented through large statistical tables or separate datasets. I wanted to turn that information into something people could explore visually — starting from a world map and moving naturally into countries, cities, comparisons, and long-term population trends. With WORLD POP ON, you can: 🌍 Explore a world population density map See population density across countries through an interactive choropleth map. 🔎 Search countries and cities Search population information for countries and more than 12,000 cities around the world. ⚖️ Compare two countries Compare population, density, demographic indicators, and future population projections side by side. ⏳ Explore population change from 1950 to 2100 Use the year controls to look at historical population estimates and future projections. 📊 Discover global population statistics Explore the most populous countries, population density rankings, growing and declining populations, and population shares by continent. 🌐 Use it in four languages WORLD POP ON supports Korean, English, Japanese, and Chinese. The service uses UN population datasets. The current world population counter is an estimate based on population projections rather than a real-time census count. WORLD POP ON is designed to make population statistics useful not only for researchers, but also for students, travelers, educators, journalists, creators, and anyone curious about how the world's population is changing.
