I built Worklog because I realized I was spending too much time "drifting" during the day without even knowing it. Dashboards and analytics apps didn't help—they just gave me charts to stare at instead of doing actual work.
So I built a much simpler, more brutal system: Every 30 minutes, my screen freezes for 60 seconds with a full-screen overlay. In that one minute, I am forced to write down exactly what I did in the last 30 minutes.
It sounds intense, but this one habit completely fixed my focus. I know exactly where my time goes, and it's impossible to waste an hour on Twitter when you know the prompt is coming in 15 minutes.
