Every German word gets a funny picture and a short sound-alike story: "kommen" sounds like "come, men!". Nouns come with der/die/das in color, and practice brings words back before you forget. 1,000+ words, A1–B1. Tap any word to hear it, keep every word in your own library, share a word as a picture card, and see a German word on your Home Screen widget. Free: 10 new words a day plus practice, no account, works offline. Pro opens every word, monthly, yearly or once for life.

Hi Product Hunt! I'm Niyazi. I live in Basel, and I've been learning German the slow way for years. Flashcards never stuck for me. What did stick was the silly stuff: "kommen" sounds like "come, men!", "nein" sounds like "nine" (nobody wants nine giant spiders). So I rebuilt WordStory around that idea: every one of 1,000+ words (A1–B1) has its own funny picture and a short story that ties the sound to the meaning. What's in it: 🖼️ A picture and a sound-alike story for every word, and tap-to-hear audio 🎨 der / die / das in color with every noun (blue, red, green), so you learn "die Frau", not a gender table 🔁 Practice that brings back the words you miss right before you'd forget them 📚 Your own library (search in German or English), share any word as a picture card, and a Home Screen widget It's free to start: 10 new words a day plus practice, no account, works offline. Pro opens every word, monthly, yearly or once for life. You can try 5 words in your browser before installing: https://wordstory.app App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/id674... I'd love honest feedback: which pictures make you laugh, and which ones fall flat? Some easy words (Haus = house) barely need a trick, and I'm still tuning which ones deserve a better picture.

Who hunted WordStory?

WordStory was hunted by Niyazi Erdogan. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
