Wordie is a minimalist browser extension for passive language learning. Build your vocabulary vault with one click and see your words highlighted on any page. No accounts, 100% private.
Hey PH! 👋
I'm Vusal, a solo builder and I made Wordie because I was tired of vocabulary apps that demand your attention.
The idea is simple: save a word once, and Wordie will highlight it every time you encounter it while browsing with forcing passive review without any extra effort.
Pair that with active recall flashcards and words actually stick.
100% local, no accounts, no sync to any server. Your vocab vault is yours.
I'd love to hear from language learners, IELTS/TOEFL preppers, or anyone who's ever copy-pasted a word into Notion and never looked at it again 😅
Ask me anything!
Congrats on the launch, looks like a fab idea. You say that the words are highlighted as you browse, but does that happen for every word you have saved, every single time it appears?
Passive exposure makes sense — words repeat naturally in context. Do you plan to add spaced repetition, or is staying deliberately simple part of the design?
Got a warning during install that this extension can read and change data on all websites. That's a lot of access for a word game. Can you explain why that's needed?
How are you deciding which words get surfaced again, is it based on frequency, difficulty, or user behaviour over time?
