WMail is the iPhone email app I've always wanted for Fastmail: everything that makes Fastmail & JMAP great, plus the power-user features I kept wishing it had. And it's live on the App Store today! 🎉

I've been using WMail as my daily email app for a while, and a private TestFlight group helped shape it ahead of today's launch. I find WMail saves me hours with Templates, and helps me feel calmer and more focused with features like Paused Inbox and Newsletter Bundles.

Why JMAP only?
IMAP is old, and it can't support Fastmail features like Send Later, Masked Email and Memos. Building exclusively on JMAP means you keep everything you love about Fastmail, in a native iPhone app.

Private by design:
WMail has no servers reading your email. Everything happens on your device and talks directly to Fastmail, using a scoped API key you create and can revoke at any time.

What makes WMail great:
✍️ Templates: Save hours. Stop rewriting the same emails. Pick a template from a list or use a shortcut like ;thanks.
📰 Newsletter Bundles: Pick senders and have them bundled up and delivered to your inbox once a day.
⏸️ Pause Inbox: Set a downtime period and pause the inbox view.
⚡ Quick Reply: Keep the thread in context with a quick reply box. It’s like sending a chat message as an email reply. Sometimes you don’t need to open the full compose window.
🔌 Integrations: Send an email and a link to its thread to Things, Reminders and more.
🚫 Easy Unsubscribe & Block: See your newsletter subscriptions in one list and unsubscribe in a tap. For problem senders you can also Block Senders.
✂️ Signature Trimming: An underrated mobile essential. We are super proud of our custom signature trimming saving valuable screen space.
👥 Multiple Accounts: Add all your Fastmail accounts and see everything in one unified inbox.
⚙️ Customisation: Make WMail your own. Customise swipe actions, quick actions on threads, dark mode, auto-advancing, disable avatars and more.

Plus everything you expect from Fastmail:
🎭 Masked Emails: Create, edit and delete your Masked Emails from your Fastmail account, PLUS reply to emails using your Masked Email.
🕐 Send Later: Schedule emails and see them in both WMail and Fastmail.
📝 Private Memos: Notes on emails that stay perfectly in sync with Fastmail.
😴 Snooze: Snooze an email and WMail brings it back to your inbox later.
🏞️ Remote Images: Optionally choose to disable images and load them per email when you need.

WMail is free to download. One Pro plan unlocks everything: monthly, yearly or a one-time lifetime purchase.

I have big plans for what's next, so I'd love to hear from you, what's the one thing your current email app does that drives you mad, or what would you like WMail to add? 🤩

Comment highlights

I like that it keeps the Fastmail experience feeling native to the iPhone instead of just being another web wrapper.

I like the idea of separating email time from everything else. Can it be scheduled to pause automatically?
