WiPals
Your closest friends' status, right on your Lock Screen
Built by a solo developer. WiPals is a private circle for you and your 7 closest friends. From what your phone already knows (battery, motion, home/work/out, weather, the song playing) it writes one short, funny line and puts it on your friends' Lock Screens. You do nothing: no posting, no texting. 1,900+ hand-written lines in 7 languages. Privacy is the point: coordinates never leave the phone, no ads, no trackers, and every status disappears after 24 hours.
Hi Product Hunt 👋 I'm Mehmet, and I built WiPals on my own: design, iOS app, backend, and all 1,900+ lines in 7 languages.
I built it because group chats had turned into work. You post something to prove you're alive, everyone reacts, and still nobody knows how anyone is actually doing.
WiPals removes the posting. Your phone already knows your battery is at 4%, that you've been walking for an hour, that you're still at the office, what song is playing. WiPals turns that into one short line ("Surviving on 4%. Bold.") and puts it on your 7 closest friends' Lock Screens. You never open the app to share.
What else is in 1.0:
• Lock Screen, Home Screen and iOS 27's extra-large widget
• Two photo frames a day for your circle: no likes, no counts
• A Sunday ritual where the circle's titles go out (night owl, battery hero…)
• Incognito mode: one switch, nothing leaves your phone until you turn it back on
The hard part was privacy. Coordinates never leave the device; only the line and a few rounded numbers are shared. No ads, no data sales, no third-party trackers, and statuses disappear after 24 hours.
WiPals is free on the App Store for iPhone; WiPals Pro adds more circles, data layers and themes. I'd love your take, especially on where you'd draw the line on what a phone should share about you automatically.

WiPals was hunted by Mehmet Sarıtaş. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
