Growing up, Whot! was the card game that brought families and friends together across Nigeria and West Africa. Think of it like Uno, but with its own unique shapes, wild cards, and intense rivalries!
I realized there wasn't a beautifully designed, modern web version of this game, so I built one.
Here is what makes it special: ⚡️ Frictionless: It's a PWA. No app store downloads required. Just share a link to play. 🎙️ Voice Chat: Built-in WebRTC voice chat so you can trash-talk when you drop a "Pick 5". 🗺️ Adventure Mode: A 10-stage, 57-level campaign to train your skills against AI.
I built this using React, Appwrite, and Agora for voice. I'd love for you to try it out, challenge a friend, and let me know what you think of the design and gameplay!
Played a quick round and the matchmaking was surprisingly quick, got into a game within seconds. The card animations feel smooth and the rules match how my family plays it back home.
