Whisper Money started from a simple frustration: every “smart” finance app I tried wanted my entire financial life on their servers.

As an engineer, I knew two things:

1. Once your raw financial data leaves your device, you’re trusting a lot of invisible systems and people.

2. Most people don’t actually need “AI robo-advisor magic” – they need clear visibility, simple budgets, and to know they’re not being tracked.

So the question became: can we get the convenience of a modern budgeting app without giving up privacy?

That’s what Whisper Money tries to solve:

- End-to-end encryption with a private, local key only you have

- No tracking, no selling data, no “anonymized” analytics

- Still fast, visual, and pleasant enough that you’ll actually use it

Also, the project is open-sourced, so anyone (especially other engineers) can audit how it works instead of taking a marketing claim at face value.
