Most life-story and travel tools are built for a single screen size or format. Where is Paul? is designed to work the same way on mobile, desktop, and in augmented or virtual reality. It presents a personal history as a spatial record (globe + timeline) and can turn experiences into comic-style sequences. The project is fully open source so others can clone it and build their own version.
I built Where is Paul? because the usual ways of recording a life — linear blogs, photo feeds, or simple maps — felt limited. I wanted something that treated places, time, and stories as a single spatial record that could be explored rather than just scrolled.
The core problem was that personal history is rarely navigable. Most tools force a chronological list or a flat map of pins. I started with a globe and timeline, then added the ability to turn trips into comic-style sequences. Along the way it became clear the same experience should work on mobile, desktop, and in AR or VR, so the interface was designed to adapt across those environments.The project is fully open source. Anyone can clone the repository and create their own version.
