I built this while traveling in Iceland. I googled "Iceland population"
and got 393,600 — a number that meant nothing to me until I looked up
Korea's and did the math myself. 0.8%. That's when it clicked.
Raw numbers don't tell you anything. Comparison does.
So I made a site that does the comparison for you. Search any country
and you get population, area, GDP, religion breakdown, monthly
temperature, plug types, driving side — all charted against your home
country automatically.
A few things I care about:
- Every chart is embeddable — grab an iframe and drop it in your blog
- 8 languages, because "アイスランド 人口" deserves a real answer too
- Data from World Bank, CIA Factbook, Open-Meteo, with sources and
years on every page
Still early. The country-pair comparison pages are where it gets fun —
try Japan vs South Korea or Egypt vs England.
