Hunted byAdam RichardsAdam Richards

We created a different version of a trending search data website. Our goal is to help people understand what people are searching for around the world - and why. We monitor trending search data across 48 countries multiple times a day, adding category, search intent (why), related source reporting, images and concise summaries of why people are searching for that topic. We hope to help keep people informed, understand trends globally, and connect the dots you may have missed.

Originally I wanted to find out what people were curious about and found trending search data. You can see what people are searching for by region, time frame and more. Naturally I started to get curious as to what some of the search terms were as some countries they weren't even in my language.. and most of all why people were searching for them. I remembered file system tree maps because I'm a geek and thought "wouldn't it be cool to see this data visualized by trend importance in a tree map?". So I built that and then sat and looked at every different country for hours because that's truly the best part of programming something. Then came categories, search intents, summaries and more and more as I dove head first into exploring what people are curious about around the world - trying to make it easier for both myself and others to learn and understand what is going on in the world without the bias many news website have, and what people really care about!

Who hunted What's the Pulse??

What's the Pulse? was hunted by Adam Richards. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
