WeChef makes meal planning social, and it's free! Instead of starting with a recipe search or an empty calendar, discover what friends, family, and creators are planning to eat, then add the meals you like directly to your own plan. Available on iOS and Android.
I'm Seth, co-founder of WeChef, and I have to say, today is pretty surreal.
A couple of years ago, I never would have imagined I'd be launching a tech startup. I had a normal 9-to-5 job, no experience developing apps, and absolutely no idea what it took to build a company. Neither did my co-founder Matty. We were just two friends who were curious about what the other was cooking. That's really where all of this began. But the more we talked about it, the more we realized there was something here worth exploring.
Food is inherently social. We share recipes, pictures of our meals, restaurant recommendations, and just about everything else. But we felt like there was a piece missing. Sharing recipes is only half the story. Knowing what someone can cook is one thing. Knowing what they're actually cooking and eating is something entirely different. What if your meal plan could be social? What if you could see what your friends and family were planning for dinner, discover new meals through the people you know, and share a little more of your everyday life through food?
That's the idea behind WeChef. Social meal planning.
We didn't have the experience or the resources to build something like this when we started. But we believed it should exist, and we were determined to figure out how to make it happen. Nearly two years later, here we are. We've actually done it.
I'm incredibly proud of what Matty and I have accomplished, but more than anything, I'm excited that something that started as a simple conversation between two friends is now something anyone can be a part of. WeChef is completely free, and I'd love for you to check it out, explore what we've built, and tell us what you think.
This is just the beginning, and I can't wait to see where it goes!
