Add a monitor in seconds (just paste a URL), get alerts via Slack, email, or webhooks, and share a read-only page. Open-source, self-hostable, PostgreSQL-backed.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
We built Webdog.ai because I wanted a simple, inspectable way to watch websites for meaningful changes, not just text diffs, but new links, removed links, and content updates.
A lot of website monitoring tools are closed SaaS products. Webdog.ai is different: it’s open-source, self-hostable, and backed by PostgreSQL, so you can run it yourself, keep your data, and extend it for your own workflows.
It’s useful for tracking competitor pages, documentation, directories, changelogs, pricing pages, and any site where changes matter.
I’d love feedback from the PH community, especially around what kinds of website changes you’d want to monitor next.
Pasted a couple of product pages and was surprised how clearly it flagged a price drop with a quick summary. The Slack alert setup took maybe ten seconds, which is exactly the kind of low-friction experience I want from a monitoring tool.
The paste-a-URL-and-go setup is genuinely refreshing, no bloated onboarding or required account dance. Love that it's open-source with PostgreSQL under the hood, feels built by people who actually ship their own tools.
Love the simplicity of just pasting a URL and getting diffs. One thing that would save me a ton of time is a per-page "ignore" rules option, like skipping changes inside a specific CSS selector or regex (e.g. ignore timestamps, cookie banners, "people also viewed" carousels). Would cut down on noisy alerts a lot.
