A few things worth flagging:
1) Why now: AI models only crossed the safety threshold for editing live production code in the last 12 months. The category "AI safely modifies your existing codebase" couldn't exist before that. We think there's a 12–18 month window before incumbents try to retrofit this capability — and most of them will fail because their architectures are built around generating new code, not editing existing repos.
2) Expansion path: Shopify is our wedge because ecommerce operators feel the pain most acutely and have budget today. The same engine extends to WordPress (40% of the web), Webflow exports, and arbitrary React/Next.js codebases — the underlying primitive (safely edit a real repo via PRs) is broadly applicable. Shopify is the entry point, not the ceiling.
3) Pricing as a signal: we charge $200/mo from day one because real inference on real code is expensive and because the buyer who pays it is the buyer we want. We're optimizing for revenue from serious customers, not free signups.
We're heads-down on our first paying customers right now. Open to conversations with investors who think clearly about applied AI on existing production systems (vs. greenfield generators).
