I’ve been building Weavit UI, a free and open-source desktop GUI for Weaviate, and just cut the first public release. Think MongoDB-Compass-style tooling, but for your Weaviate instances — connect to any local, self-hosted, or Weaviate Cloud cluster and work with your data visually.
What it does
🔌 Connections — local, Weaviate Cloud, or fully custom (separate HTTP + gRPC host/port), API-key or anonymous auth. API keys are encrypted at rest with your OS keychain.
🗂️ Schema & collections — browse the schema tree, inspect per-collection config, and create/delete collections.
📄 Data — paginated object browser with structured + raw-JSON views, named vectors, multi-tenancy, and insert / edit / delete.
🔎 Search — nearText, nearVector, BM25, and hybrid, with a visual filter builder and target-vector selection.
⚙️ Admin — cluster meta & modules, node status, and a raw GraphQL / REST console.
Built with Electron + React + TypeScript, using the official weaviate-client v3 in the Node process (so gRPC works properly) behind a locked-down IPC bridge.
