Love the no-subscription angle and the focus on offline map caching. One thing that would really help here is adding a shared family alert system, like letting me designate a couple of trusted contacts who automatically get my location and a push if an NWS warning fires for my saved zones, so loved ones know I'm safe when cell service drops.
