Watermark Assistant adds semi-transparent watermarks to ID photos and documents — entirely in your browser. No uploads, no servers, no data collection. Perfect for protecting yourself when sharing sensitive photos for KYC, rentals, or job applications. Supports 17 languages and weighs only 264KB.
Hey Product Hunt! 👋
I built Watermark Assistant because I kept seeing people share ID photos online without any protection — for KYC verification, rental applications, job onboarding, etc. Adding a simple watermark like "For XX verification only" is a well-known best practice, but most tools require uploading your most sensitive photos to their servers.
That felt wrong to me. So I built a Chrome extension that does everything locally in your browser — your photos never leave your device.
Key highlights:
• 100% local processing (zero server uploads)
• Only 264KB — lightweight and fast
• Supports 17 languages
• 3-step workflow: add image → set watermark → save
• Completely free
I'd love to hear your feedback — especially on use cases I might be missing or features you'd find useful. Thanks for checking it out! 🙏
