Why I built WakeFlix
The idea behind WakeFlix was simple: most alarm clocks give you the same thing every morning — a repetitive sound that becomes incredibly easy to ignore.
I wanted to make the alarm itself more engaging by letting people choose a video that plays when it's time to wake up.
That sounds simple, but making an alarm reliable on modern Android devices introduces some interesting challenges around background execution, device restarts, notifications, battery restrictions, and ensuring that only one alarm plays at a time.
WakeFlix is my attempt to solve those problems while keeping the experience simple.
I'd particularly like feedback on one thing:
