Even though this is a pretty invasive approach to make it work, since it meddles with the official Claude Code extension, it works like a charm. I hoped Anthropic could make this change on their side instead of having to create this extension, hopefully it happens soon. In the mean time, let's make this extension a thing so it gets their attention and provide this functionality from their side!
Finally a fix for the daily annoyance of swapping tokens between work and personal. Setup took a minute and it just worked across two VS Code windows, exactly what I needed.
finally a clean way to keep my work and personal claude accounts separate in vs code without swapping tokens every five minutes. The profile switching just works and the session layer stays in sync, which is the part that usually breaks in hacks like this.
Finally a fix for the daily headache of swapping between work and personal Claude tokens. Love that it patches at both the process and auth layer instead of just one — that dual approach feels way more reliable than the janky env var hacks I've been using.
would love to see a quick switcher in the status bar to jump between profiles without digging into settings, maybe with the profile name shown so you always know which account is active
