I'm Matt, founder of VOYD.
I built VOYD because I was tired of watching communication platforms treat privacy as an afterthought, or worse, as something you have to fight for. The moment Discord started asking users for face scans and ID uploads just to prove they're old enough to chat with friends, it felt like a line had been crossed. Communities shouldn't have to hand over biometric data just to talk to each other.
So we built VOYD: a free platform with crystal-clear voice chat, real-time messaging, and spaces for your community to actually live in. No invasive verification, no data harvesting, and no business model that depends on knowing everything about you.
A few things that matter most to us:
- Privacy by design – we don't ask for face scans or ID, and we're built to minimize what we collect in the first place
- Real voice quality – crystal-clear calls without the friction
- Free, genuinely – the core experience isn't a trial or a hook for a paywall
