I built Vortex because my Downloads folder kept turning into a mess, and I was tired of opening Finder every time I needed a file I had just downloaded.
I didn’t want to build a broad automation platform. Vortex is intentionally focused: new downloads in the menu bar, quick actions, predictable organization into clear folders, and tracked undo when a move can still be safely restored.
Files are organized locally on the Mac. The free version includes manual actions and limited daily automatic organizing; Pro is a one-time unlock for unlimited automatic organizing and custom rules.
I’d especially appreciate feedback on whether the menu bar workflow feels clear and whether anything about the organizing behavior is surprising.
