hello again product hunt!
most days I have a showerthought like 'what would it mean to be like steve jobs?'
hands still dripping, I search for 'steve jobs' podcasts...
...but it's all motivational speeches and steve's life story.
I don't think steve was listening to motivational speeches. certainly not his own life story.
so I built vol.
vol knows more than I do about steve jobs. it knows what to search for and selects the best episodes for me.
so instead of motivational speeches, I get to imbibe the ingredients that made him:
- bauhaus,
- calligraphy
- zen buddhism
and if you remember vol from the first launch, it's been rewritten! most importantly you can now:

Wow, this is cool. I always get lost scrolling podcast apps, never know what to play, particularly before I go out for jogging or walking. This one just picks something good for me. Love it!
Wow this is clever! The ability to search for specific topics within podcast episodes is such a game changer. How does the search algorithm prioritize which episodes to show?

This new version of it feels like a personal podcast assistant. I like that I don't have to scroll endlessly anymore. Just tell it my interest and it delivers. That's real convenience!
It's be cool if vol could create “playlists” of related episodes,like a mini course around a topic. @mbanerjeepalmer

I decided to put the launch on ice, felt it needed a bit more polishing. I couldn't work out how to cancel a launch. so I just yeeted it into the distant future. that future was...today

Love the minimalist UI aesthetic, but the jarring transition during subscription flow breaks the immersion.
