I'm Mark, and I built VoicePrep because I kept watching something that genuinely bothered me.
Smart, qualified people losing jobs they deserved. Not because of their experience. Not because of their skills. Because they said "um" 11 times in their first answer. Because they froze when the interviewer pushed back. Because they said "I'm a perfectionist" when asked about their weakness and didn't realize it was costing them the offer.
Interviewing is a skill. Like any skill, it gets better with deliberate practice. The problem is that deliberate practice has always required either a $250/hour coach or a friend willing to roleplay an interview at 11pm.
VoicePrep changes that.
A few things I'm most proud of:
The filler word counter: It records your actual voice, transcribes it, and tells you exactly how many times you said "um." The first-time people see their numbers they are genuinely shocked. That moment of awareness is the first step to fixing it.
The Stress Simulator: It pushes back on every single answer. "I'm not convinced. Walk me through your reasoning." After 10 sessions of that, nothing a real interviewer says feels like pressure anymore.
The free tier: no credit card, no email, no tricks. Unlimited interactive interview practice forever. I wanted the people who need this most to be able to use it without any friction.
I built the entire platform with Claude AI. No engineering background. Just a problem I wanted to solve and the tools to solve it.
