We started building VMOTEK after spending a lot of time talking to repair shop owners and fleet managers about how they actually run their day-to-day operations — and one thing kept coming up: most shop software handles the middle of the process really well (the work order itself), but everything before and after it stays disconnected. Parts get ordered over the phone with no record. Inventory lives in one shop's head, invisible to the next. Fleet customers get updates through calls and emails instead of a shared view.
None of those gaps are dramatic on their own. But add them up across a busy week, and they're the difference between a shop that's in control of its operation and one that's constantly playing catch-up.
So we built VMOTEK around connecting that whole cycle — appointments, estimates, work orders, purchasing, inventory across every location, and fleet service — instead of just digitizing one piece of it and leaving the rest to spreadsheets and memory.
We're still early, and honestly the best part of launching here is getting real feedback from people who either run a shop, manage a fleet, or just think hard about how this kind of software should work.
