Most video downloaders either make you paste a URL into a website, or they only grab the obvious tag on the page. Videoff lives in your browser and goes deeper: Deep detection: scans shadow DOM, iframes, and intercepts network requests to catch HLS/DASH manifests that other tools miss entirely. Firefox Android support: same extension works on desktop and mobile (most tools ignore mobile entirely). Adapter system: site-specific support (YouTube, Vimeo, X, TikTok…) that's easy to extend.

Hi everyone 👋 We built Videoff because we kept running into the same annoying problem: we’d find videos we wanted to keep, like tutorials, conference talks or useful clips, and then lose track of them later. The existing options never felt quite right. Some required copying URLs into random websites, others needed a separate app, and many simply failed to detect the video on the page. The other frustration was offline access. We wanted to watch saved videos while traveling, on trains, planes, in hotels with terrible Wi-Fi, or anywhere with no connection. Not just download a file somewhere and forget about it, but keep a proper personal video library that’s always available. So we built Videoff as a browser extension ! You open a page, Videoff detects the videos on it, including ones behind custom players or streaming manifests, and lets you choose what to save. The video is downloaded directly into a library inside your browser. No cloud storage, no external app, no copy-pasting URLs. Then you can watch everything offline whenever you need it. It works on Chrome, Firefox desktop, and Firefox Android. There’s also a free tier with 10 downloads per day, so you can try it without committing. We’d really appreciate your feedback, especially on which websites you’d like us to support next.
