Vero isn't a budgeting app - we're a money habit app. Instead of simply showing users where their money goes, our AI identifies spending patterns, creates personalised saving challenges, and rewards progress with tokens. Users build streaks, earn XP, compete with friends, and redeem rewards from brands they love to reduce living costs or enjoy treats they'd otherwise cut back on. Restriction alone isn't sustainable. That's why we help people enjoy life not despite saving, but because of it.
Vero started from a problem we were struggling with ourselves. We’re a team of 5 international students in the UK, all coming from very different cultural and financial backgrounds.
Moving to London made budgeting feel less like a “good habit” and more like survival 😅 But every money app we tried felt either overwhelming, judgmental, or just… boring.
Most tools showed us where our money went after we already overspent. None actually helped us stop the behaviour in the moment.
At the same time, we realised how much the world around us is designed to encourage impulse spending - one-click checkouts, doomscrolling, targeted ads, “little treats”, all adding up quietly over time. We started researching this deeper and found we definitely weren’t alone.
So Vero became our attempt to flip money management from restriction into something engaging and behaviour-driven.
What began as a university dissertation evolved into a full-time startup. We researched 100+ students and even tested early gamification concepts manually through Instagram over 21 days before building the product.
Today, Vero uses AI + behavioural science + gamification to help users build healthier money habits through personalised challenges, nudges, and rewards.
Seeing beta testers tell us things like: “I started sticking with expense tracking because it feels like a game. As someone with ADHD, I didn’t expect that.”
…has honestly made the whole journey worth it.
We’re still early, still learning, and still improving every week - but we’re incredibly excited to finally share Vero with the world 🐘 💸
Would genuinely love your feedback, thoughts, or preferably brutal honesty 🙌
Love that this started from a real personal problem and a university dissertation! The behaviour-first angle makes sense restriction alone never sticks. Good luck with the launch 🚀

Vero+ was hunted by Supharat (Boss). A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
