Verifact is a community-driven fact-checking app. Anyone can submit a news claim — AI runs an instant credibility check on the source and claim type, then the community votes True, Fake, or Not Sure. Final verdicts blend AI confidence (40%) with weighted community votes (60%). Voters build reputation over time, so accuracy earns more influence. No editors. No hidden algorithm. Built ahead of the 2026 midterms as a neutral alternative to traditional fact-checkers.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
I'm the founder of Verifact, built solo in Houston, Texas.
Here's the problem I kept running into: every fact-checker gets
accused of bias by someone. Left distrusts right-leaning sources,
right distrusts left-leaning sources, and AI alone can be wrong or
manipulated.
So I built Verifact differently:
→ Anyone submits a claim with a source link
→ AI runs an instant pre-check (source credibility, claim type,
initial risk signal) — but it's only a signal, never the verdict
→ The community votes True / Fake / Not Sure
→ Your vote weight grows as your accuracy track record improves
→ Final verdict = 40% AI + 60% weighted community vote — published
and auditable
No editorial team deciding what's "true." Same rules for every claim,
every source, every politician — left or right.
With the 2026 midterms coming up, I wanted a tool where people could
verify claims themselves instead of just trusting whichever outlet
they already agree with.
Would love your feedback — especially if you try voting on a few
claims and tell me if the trust/reputation system feels fair. 🙏

Who hunted Verifact?
Verifact was hunted by Minh Duc Ho. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
