I'm Balázs, the solo founder behind Ventory - Calm.
I built Ventory because I noticed that most journaling apps focus on writing things down, but very few help people truly understand the patterns behind their thoughts and emotions.
For many people, speaking is easier than writing. That's why Ventory allows users to record voice or text journal entries and then uses AI to transform them into meaningful insights.
The goal isn't diagnosis or therapy. It's self-reflection.
Ventory helps users:
• Capture thoughts through voice or text • Track mood and anxiety levels • Discover recurring emotional patterns • Identify possible triggers over time • Generate private reports for deeper reflection • Practice breathing, meditation, and presence exercises
One principle guided every product decision: privacy first.
Voice recordings are transcribed and then removed, journal entries remain private, and there are no social feeds, likes, followers, or public profiles.
Building this as a solo developer has been a long journey involving Flutter, Supabase, Claude, Whisper, and countless iterations on the user experience.
The latest update also introduces a new wellness section with breathing exercises, meditation sessions, and simple presence practices designed to help users slow down and find calm in everyday life.
