VendNex started as a favor, not a startup idea.
My brother and his wife run an antique shop, and I watched them lose hours every month manually tracking vendor sales, calculating commissions, and putting together payout reports by hand — the same headache almost every antique mall and consignment shop deals with.
He gave me the rundown on exactly how it should work — vendor codes, Square integration, monthly reports — and I built it specifically for their shop. Once he tried it, he looked at me and said, "You should make this available for other stores too." That's what pushed it from a one-off family project into a real product.
So VendNex is built from the inside — every feature comes from an actual daily pain point at a real shop, not a guess at what antique mall owners might need. It's automatic Square sync, automatic commission/payout calculations, and a self-service portal so vendors aren't left wondering what they're owed. No spreadsheets required.
