Hi Product Hunt, I'm Colin, one of the people behind Vemoir at Aurum Avis Labs, a small software studio in Zug, Switzerland.
Why we built it: our days were endless back-to-back meetings, many of them confidential. We needed transcripts grouped into projects, so meetings in the same project share their context. Plus default templates you can export, and no subscription fees.
Vemoir is a Mac app for meeting notes that stays on your machine. You hit record in the menu bar, it listens to your mic and the system audio, and when the call ends you have a transcript, a summary, decisions, action items and a follow-up draft. There's no bot joining your call, and by default nothing leaves your Mac.
A lot of meetings are exactly the ones you don't want to send to a third-party cloud: client calls, HR conversations, board meetings, early product work.
A few things we were strict about: - Model downloads are explicit. You choose the transcription and language models, and Vemoir never swaps them behind your back. - Cloud AI is opt-in with your own API key. If you never add one, it is never used. - Your own notes from the call count as real input, and Ask Vemoir answers link back to the exact place in the transcript, so you can check what was actually said.
What it doesn't do (yet): it's Mac-only, Apple silicon only, macOS 14.2 or later. No Windows, no Intel.
