Hey Product Hunt 👋 I’m Madhu. I made RedactScreen.com, and Veil is my new app.
I work from coworking spaces and cafes where screen privacy matters even when I’m not sharing my screen. Someone says hello, I turn to grab my coffee, and my Mac is sitting there showing everything.
So I thought, could my Mac notice when I look away?
Veil uses head tracking from supported AirPods to blur your screen when you turn away, then clears it when you look back. No camera or eye tracking. Your head movement is processed locally on your Mac.
I got a little carried away and added walk-away locking and head gestures to open apps or run Shortcuts, and a curious cat or dog that follows your head. That last one exists purely because it made me smile 😀
I built Veil around my own daily routine, but I’m curious where it might fit into yours. Coworking space, office, café, or somewhere else?

Who hunted Veil?
Veil was hunted by Madhu Balakrishna. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
