Vardum Desktop
A private AI on a USB stick. Runs offline, installs nothing
Plug the stick into a Windows PC and chat with an AI that never touches the internet. Nothing is installed on the computer and no graphics card is needed. Two models included: Standard and Unfiltered. Unfiltered (18+) is abliterated: its maker's tests show it answers 97 of 100 questions standard models refuse. Made by a small team in Australia.
We build a private messenger, and the question we kept getting was "is there an AI I can use for client work that doesn't send everything to someone's server?" There is: local models are good enough now. But setting them up is fiddly, and lots of people aren't allowed to install software on their work PC.
So we put it on a USB stick. Plug it in, it opens in your browser, and it runs on the PC's own processor with the internet off if you like. When you pull the stick out, the computer has nothing installed.
The Unfiltered model is abliterated (its refusals removed): in its maker's published tests it answered 97 of 100 questions that standard models refuse. It's 18+ only, and we age-check before sending it.
It's built on llama.cpp with Google's Gemma 4 and Qwen 3.5, and we're upfront that you can build this yourself for free. This is for people who'd rather not.
There's also a phone version, and a full bundle with a GrapheneOS Pixel if you want everything set up (Vardum isn't affiliated with GrapheneOS). Happy to answer anything.

Vardum Desktop was hunted by Matt Franks. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
