We’re building practical AI products for people who need more than generic chatbots — starting with Vael.
Vael is a privacy-first AI revision workspace for fiction writers. It helps authors organize chapters, characters, timelines, and world notes, then get targeted feedback on prose, continuity, structure, and style.
A lot of writers want AI help, but they don’t want to paste their entire unpublished manuscript into a black box.
That’s the core idea behind Vael: powerful AI feedback, but with clearer control over what context is shared and why.
I don’t think AI should replace writers. But I do think it can become a thoughtful revision partner — helping authors spot issues, strengthen scenes, and stay in control of their creative work.
This is our first public launch for Vael, so I’d genuinely love feedback — especially from fiction writers, editors, indie authors, AI builders, or anyone thinking about privacy-first creative tools.
How does Vael actually spot plot holes or does it mostly flag inconsistencies like timeline or character name mismatches?
Does Vael actually read the full manuscript or does it work chapter by chapter, and what happens if my draft is like 120k words?
Asked it about a subplot I kept second-guessing and it flagged a timeline contradiction I'd missed on three rereads. That alone is worth the trial.
Uploaded a messy 80k draft and asked it to flag timeline inconsistencies, it caught three I'd missed in three reads. Skeptical of AI writing tools but the privacy-first angle here actually makes me feel safe experimenting with my WIP.

Who hunted Vael?
Vael was hunted by Michael Chin. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
