Hey Product Hunt! 👋
I built Utilitly because I was honestly sick and tired of two bad choices while working with PDFs at my corporate job: pay Adobe $20+ per month for features I use like once or twice a week, or use sketchy “free” sites that upload important company documents to some mystery server. Utilitly also has a strict policy of NEVER using your data to train AI. I value the importance of cybersecurity and protecting my own data, so I built a cool PDF Tool website that focuses on affordability, a cool user interface to make a really boring work task look actually kind of fun to use, and cybersecurity.
As a software engineer, I knew there had to be a better and more affordable way. And a less boring way. Most sites like this are incredibly boring so I figured why not make something that does the same but looks cool lol.
Utilitly is free to use with limited features like merging and splitting PDFs (and more image tools). It’s also pretty affordable starting at $4.99 per month for most features, and $9.99 per month for more advanced features like Advanced OCR and AI Author (a cool tool where you get to construct your own PDF file with loads of presets like Resume & Purchase Order (and more), and you can also auto-populate an article to make it look like a professional PDF and edit it at your pleasure).
Utilitly does all PDF processing directly in your browser (Typescript is a cool programming language). Your files NEVER leave your device — not even for a millisecond. No server uploads, ever.
I’m launching today and would genuinely love your feedback — the good, the bad, the ugly, and the "why doesn't it do X yet?" I read every comment and will try to respond in a timely manner. I’m also planning to add more tools to the site, but am also open to ideas.
Constructive feedback is always welcome 🙏 . It’s a new site so I’d love to hear from y’all on how to improve it.
Much love from the USA 🇺🇸 and thanks for the support 🙏
