Uppale is a live attention marketplace that replaces hidden algorithms with transparent math. Instead of paying social networks blindly, you claim visibility slots that decay predictably over time. Users organically boost slots, creating a fair micro-economy. Built out of frustration with fake reviews, it empowers local businesses and creators with an immutable ledger, dual-currency wallets, gamified rewards, and zero black boxes. True visibility, powered by people.
Hi Product Hunt!
I'm Roberto, an electronics engineer originally from Rome now based in Wales. This is my first product launch and I wanted to share the story behind Uppale.
THE PROBLEM
For years I watched the internet get worse at discovery. Fake reviews everywhere. Bot followers drowning out real voices. Small businesses buried by algorithmic black boxes. Meanwhile, traditional ratings became worthless because anyone can buy stars.
I kept asking myself: How do you build a visibility system people actually trust?
HOW THIS STARTED
I began with a very local idea. Help small local business get discovered by real customers without gaming the system. A simple neighborhood marketplace. That was the plan.
But as I coded, I kept asking harder questions. What if visibility wasn't permanent? What if it decayed mathematically? What if every ranking movement followed a public formula instead of a secret algorithm?
That's when the scope expanded. A lot.
THE EVOLUTION
What started as a local tool became a real-time global visibility marketplace because every feature I added solved a real problem I kept discovering. I went from one category to eleven. From local currency to multi-region wallets. From simple decay to a complete economic system where both owners and supporters earn real value.
I'm honest about this: the scope probably grew too much. But sometimes the best ideas aren't your original ones. They're the ones the problem forces you to build.
THE SOLUTION
Uppale is a transparent marketplace where visibility is governed by public mathematical rules instead of hidden algorithms.
0.4% decay per hour means no one owns a ranking forever. Real money means communities actively decide what deserves attention right now. 95% to owners means this actually creates revenue, not just vanity metrics.
Everything is visible. Everything is predictable. No black boxes.
TESTING AND NOW
Uppale is live and in testing. Every new user gets £10 or €10 or $10 in free credits to experiment. The restaurants and food category has real test data and active decay happening right now.
WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR
Before official launch I need honest criticism.
Does a mathematical system feel more trustworthy than algorithmic discovery?
Does constant decay feel like natural market behavior or broken game design?
Are there obvious flaws in the economics I'm missing?
What would actually make you use this instead of traditional ads?
I'm not looking for validation. I want the feedback that breaks things so I can fix them.

Who hunted UPPALE?
UPPALE was hunted by Roberto. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
