Hey, I'm Aleksandr. I built Unduped because I wanted a duplicate finder whose number I could believe.
On a Mac, a copy you make in the Finder usually shares its data with the original, so deleting it frees nothing. I checked with a 1 GB file: the copy took 0 MB and gave back 0 MB. Unduped asks the disk which copies are like that and only counts what really comes back.
It always keeps one copy of every file, moves the rest to the Trash, and can undo your last 5 cleanups. It also finds photos on your disks that are already in Photos.
Since 1.1 there's a section for developer builds and caches too.
Scanning is free and shows every result, and the first 500 MB are free to move. After that it's a one-time $9.99, no subscription.
