Hi Product Hunt! 👋 We are incredibly excited to launch Undermind — 10-50x better search for scientific research. ❌ The Problem: Finding the right resources to solve problems is crucial for doing impactful research. • However, researchers often need to find really complex information. • Tools like PubMed and Google Scholar only work for simple phrases. It often takes hours to sift through the (mostly irrelevant) results. ✨ Our Solution: We rebuilt search from the ground up for complex questions. Our AI agent: • Mimics how a human researcher searches. • Adapts based on what it finds to uncover everything. • Ultimately, is 10-50x better than traditional keyword search engines. ⚙️ How to use it Just write down your complex research topic, describing exactly what you want, as if to a colleague. After 2-3 minutes, Undermind will give you the precisely relevant articles you need. 🙏 Why we're doing this @thomas_hartke and I, the builders of Undermind, are scientists ourselves. We’ve spent a lot of time looking through research literature and have personally experienced those “aha” moments - when you realize you could have saved 3 months of work if only you knew about that one paper earlier! Our goal isn’t to save you a few minutes of searching yourself; it’s to make it easy to find the solutions that can drastically improve your overall research project.

I’m curious about the AI's ability to understand sublet differences in communication . Congratulations on the launch!
This sounds like an interesting idea! How does it handle multiple languages or cultural nuances? Good luck with the launch!
Congratulations on the launch of Undermind! @joshua_ramette This AI agent's ability to perform deep and targeted searches of research literature, especially for complex topics, is a significant advancement in the research field. As a researcher, I understand the challenge of finding relevant resources in vast databases, and Undermind’s approach is set to greatly reduce this burden. By mimicking how human researchers search and pinpointing precise articles, this innovative tool will undoubtedly enhance research efficiency. I hope Undermind helps many scientists save valuable time and fosters impactful discoveries. Wishing you continued success in the future!
So incredible to have an expert research librarian at my fingertips!!! Congrats @joshua_ramette and @thomas_hartke
Congrats on the launch! I love the approach and how you all are solving this problem!
The testimonials are impressive. If it can help frame research questions better, I’m definitely interested.
I like the idea of enhancing team productivity with this tool. How does it help manage tasks and track progress across different projects?
I often struggle with finding relevant papers for complex topics. This tool might just be the solution I’ve been searching for.
The ability to find highly relevant literature quickly could save a lot of time. But Does it integrate with reference management tools?
If this tool can cut down on my research time, I might actually have time to finish that book I've been pretending to read! 😅📖
The claim of vastly improved search capabilities over established platforms is intriguing. This tool could be a significant asset for anyone needing precise and comprehensive research findings.
I had some trouble accessing the demo or trial version of the tool. It might be worth checking if there are any issues with the access links.
I’ve always wished for a research assistant that actually understands what I’m looking for.
Great job on creating a research assistant that can handle such deep scientific content.
It's great to see a tool that caters so well to the needs of researchers and academics.
Its capacity to distil difficult papers into actionable insights could save a significant amount of time!
Congratulations on the launch! Tried it and it works decently well. But how do you differentiate from similar tools already in the market with output capabilities that are similar or better? For example, Scispace (typeset.io)? Been using them for a while and even the free version works well despite the rate limits. Especially like the feature to further deep dive into a specific paper after the literature review gives me a tabular summary. By the time you build out similar features, won’t such companies already have moved 10 steps ahead? Could be wrong, happy to understand better.
I tried the product and was so impressed that I signed our team up for an Undermind subscription. Nice work @joshua_ramette and @thomas_hartke
