I'm Constantin. I built TypedHand solo, in Germany, alongside school — I'm still doing my Abitur (2027).
It started with a simple problem: I wanted to use my own handwriting, and I don't own an iPad or an Apple Pencil. Everything I found assumed I did.
So TypedHand runs on paper. Print a template, fill it in with any pen, photograph it with your phone, and the editor turns that into your own typeable, editable handwriting — including ligatures (ei, sch, ung, ich).
To be upfront: there's no font file. No TTF download. Your handwriting lives in the editor and you write and export from there. That's a deliberate decision, not something I'm hiding.
My first paying customer didn't come from ads — an AI assistant recommended the site (Microsoft Copilot).
Next: learn from the feedback here and keep improving paper-to-font quality. Right now that means stroke-weight normalisation and glyph detection.

I tried it out its actually extremely realistic I was suprised myself when I just wrote some letters a few times and it also has those ligatures! I love them thats actually amazing.
Only thing I would change is that the website looks a bit like it was made with AI, esp. Claude Code, but as you are a solo founder that is understandable but I would do a design revision maybe in some weeks.
I signed up, and I think I will keep that subscription that is actually good like I am honestly flabbergasted it looks exactly like my handwriting. wow!
Everyone reading this should just check it out once you can do it on iPad or paper and works perfect. Thank you for creating this and I am sure a lot of younger people might use that for school and personal notes!!
