I started building TypeDash because I loved using Wispr Flow, but wanted to see how much further I could control my computer with my voice.
I started experimenting with voice macros and shortcuts for desktop apps and websites, and ended up using it to say things like "open Spotify", jump straight to specific pages, search Google, search YouTube for a video, open apps, find things on my computer, and trigger my own shortcuts. At the same time, TypeDash still works as a fast dictation tool using local speech recognition, so the actual transcription can run completely offline.
GPT-6 Astra has also been a big part of getting this version of TypeDash ready. I had a rough version beforehand, and Astra helped me rewrite a lot of the underlying architecture, fix critical bugs that hadn't been found before, and make the app much more reliable.
One feature I spent ages on is ChatGPT Cleanup. You can easily connect your own ChatGPT account and TypeDash will send the transcribed text through ChatGPT for a polishing pass. It also works with a free ChatGPT account.
The goal with TypeDash is to become the fastest way to control your computer, whether that means writing something, opening something, searching for something, or running an action you do all the time.
You can drag and drop almost any link, file, folder or application launcher into TypeDash and it adds it as a shortcut. You can even do this with Python files and scripts, which opens up a lot of possibilities for your own automations.
TypeDash is free during the beta, with no card required. After the beta it will be a $50 one time purchase, and you own the app permanently.
Updates to TypeDash 1.0 will also be free. In the future I may build much larger new versions or add completely new AI systems, and those could potentially be separate paid upgrades, but if you buy TypeDash 1.0, you keep forever.
This is still an early beta, so I would genuinely like to hear what people use it for. In particular, I am interested in what future macro functionality or other features you would like me to add to make it better.
