👋 Hi! Henry + Zak here, two-man dev team behind Tweet Toilet 🚽. Tweet toilet is a tool that lets you post to Twitter without visiting twitter.com (x.com). ## Why we built it I love sharing half-baked ideas to twitter (you can find me at @henrydowling) but I noticed that every time I went to post, I found scrolling for 10 minutes. What an awful productivity sink! We made this for ourselves to solve this problem! Posting is as simple as ⌘ ⇧ S, without ever needing to visit your feed. ## How it works - Global shortcut – ⌘ ⇧ S (Ctrl Alt S on Windows/Linux) pops a minimal tweet box on top of any page. - No timeline, no notifications – it calls Twitter’s compose intent directly, then dumps you right back where you were. - Built as a chrome extension w/ calls a minimal backend at api.tweettoilet.com to handle posting via the Twitter API - Privacy-first & open-source – zero trackers, open-source code is on GitHub. Feel free to use for whatever you like! - Works in Chrome, Brave, Arc, Edge—basically anything Chromium. ## What I’d love from you - Try it (one-click install above) and tell me: does the shortcut feel fast enough? We measured a 3000ms improvement over using x.com to post - Feature wishlist – scheduled tweets? cross-posting to Threads/Bsky? custom emojis when you “flush”? - Edge cases – obscure browser quirks, corporate proxies, keyboard conflicts—break it and let us know! Huge thanks to all of our Beta testers who have already saved >20 hours of doomscrolling this month.

This idea is so great! 🎉 I admit that I am a person whose attention is very easily distracted. This tool is a creator tool for me, and I can share my immediate ideas or plans, but it doesn't affect my next plan.
