Why I built this: As AI image generation tools like Midjourney, DALL-E 3, ChatGPT, and Adobe Firefly exploded, I noticed how much hidden metadata gets baked straight into image file headers—from full prompt logs, seeds, and generation parameters to C2PA Content Credentials manifests.
Existing online tools either re-compressed images (destroying visual quality) or failed to strip deeply embedded C2PA/JUMBF tags cleanly. I built TryMetaClear to give creators, marketers, and photographers a fast, privacy-first way to inspect hidden metadata and strip header footprints instantly without touching a single pixel of image resolution.
How it works:
🔍 Instant Scan: See full EXIF, IPTC, XMP, and C2PA breakdown.
⚡ Lossless Stripping: Uses ExifTool on the backend to strip metadata at the header level without re-encoding.
🔒 Privacy-First: Files are processed securely in memory and deleted immediately after cleaning.
What feedback would help most?
Model Detection: Are there specific AI generators or camera formats where metadata tags missed your expectations?
UX & Workflows: Would you prefer features like batch folder processing or an API over the single-file UI?
Edge Cases: Try dropping your heaviest PNG/WEBP files and let me know if anything feels slow or breaks!
I’ll be hanging out here in the comments all day—would love to hear your thoughts, feedback, and feature requests!
