Trust Check Ecommerce Chrome extension
A 5-second trust check before you buy from any store
TrustCheck is a free Chrome extension that scans any online store for trust signals before you check out — secure connection, contact info, return/shipping/privacy policies, customer reviews, social presence, and trust badges. Everything runs locally in your browser. Nothing about the page you're checking is ever sent anywhere. Free to try (3 checks), then $1 one-time to unlock unlimited checks forever — no subscription.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
I built TrustCheck after spending the last year building StoreCheck — a tool for Shopify merchants to audit their own stores. Along the way I kept noticing the flip side of that problem: as a shopper, you have no quick way to tell if a store you’ve never heard of is legit before you hand over your card details.
So TrustCheck flips the lens. It’s a free Chrome extension that scans the store you’re currently on — contact info, policies, reviews, checkout security, domain age, and a handful of other trust signals — and gives you a simple score, right in the popup. No sign-up, no data leaves your browser, nothing about the page you’re checking is ever sent anywhere.
It’s free for your first 3 checks, then $1 one-time (not a subscription) to unlock unlimited checks forever. I wanted the pricing to match the product: a tiny, no-pressure impulse buy, not another recurring charge to track.
Would love feedback on:
What other trust signals you’d want surfaced
Whether the score/checklist format is intuitive at a glance
Any stores where it gets it wrong (false positive/negative) — that’s the fastest way to help me improve detection
Thanks for checking it out! 🙏
