Hello Devs I'm Jay, the maker of TrueRev.
What inspired it: My feed is full of "$30k MRR" screenshots. Some are real, some are cropped, some are just made up, and there's no way to tell. I wanted one place where a revenue number actually means something.
The problem: Founders building in public have no credible way to prove traction, and everyone else (other founders, buyers, investors, curious people) has no way to trust what they see. Screenshots and self-reported numbers just aren't enough.
How it works
• You connect a restricted, read-only Stripe key. It can't charge, refund or change anything.
• We calculate your MRR and growth straight from Stripe and re-check them every day.
• Keys are encrypted with AES-256 and you can disconnect anytime.
• Not ready to verify? You can list for free with self-reported numbers, clearly labelled as self-reported.
How the approach evolved: I started with a simple "submit your numbers" list, and quickly realised that was just another screenshot wall. So verification became the core of the product, not an add-on. Every page is built around one question: is this number real?
For launch day: The first 100 startups to verify get a permanent, numbered Founding badge (#1 to #100). Listing is free.
