Trimly is a project born out of a very specific frustration: I love videography, which means heavy video files from all kinds of cameras easily pile up after trips and celebrations.
The simple truth is that nobody rewatches hours of raw footage again and again. We only care about the scattered golden moments inside.
The giant files won't fit on a phone nor sync via iCloud, yet the stock Photos.app is exactly where we go to revisit memories. If a highlight isn't in your camera roll, it basically gathers dust on a hard drive.
I couldn't find a tool to extract short clips directly to the Photo Library and make all the details like EXIF and HDR just right. Even the bloated professional editing workflow won’t work for this. That gap is why Trimly exists.
