Trendoline turns scrolling into playing. You start a challenge and put a clock on it. Best latte art, ends Sunday. Teach me a dance move. Other people join with their own video/photo, everybody votes, and a live leaderboard moves in real time until somebody wins. Or you pull one person into a duel, two entries head to head. What makes it different: your follower count is worth nothing here. Someone with 4 followers and someone with 4 million start from the same line, and the better video wins.

Hey Product Hunt. Most of us stopped posting a long time ago. We watch other people cook and dance at night, put the phone down, and notice we did not talk to anybody all evening. I did that for years. I got tired of it. So I built the opposite of it. On Trendoline you start a challenge and put a clock on it. Best latte art, ends Sunday. Teach me one dance move. Cook something with whatever is in your fridge. Other people join with their own video or photo, everybody votes, and a leaderboard moves in real time while you sit there watching it. When the clock runs out, somebody wins. And if you want it personal, you point at one person and pull them into a duel. Two entries, head to head, votes ticking in front of both of you. The part nobody sees is the part I care about most. Your follower count is worth nothing here. Not reduced. Nothing. Someone with four followers and someone with four million enter the same challenge from the same starting line, and the better video wins. I put that into the database on day one, specifically so that I could never sell it later. Right now the challenges are for fun, and that is deliberate. But here is what I am really building toward. Remember the ice bucket challenge. One idea, everybody at once, and for two weeks the entire internet was doing the same slightly ridiculous thing for a reason that actually mattered. Then it ended, because there was nowhere to put it. Now imagine that with a home. One day, one challenge, everywhere at the same time. Everybody plants a tree and films it. Everybody adopts an animal. Everybody picks up one piece of trash they find on the ground. Nobody feels stupid when everyone is doing the same thing at the same moment, so the quiet people join too. The competition is only the excuse. Doing it together is the whole point. One more thing, since you will see it on this page anyway. There is a launch from 2017 here with the same name. That was one challenge, photos only, and a sign-up form that failed for most of the people who tried it. It got 83 upvotes and then it died, and I could not rebuild it for nine years. This is not that app. Two native apps, iOS and Android, 37 languages, and it is free. What would you start a challenge about? Tell me here and I will create it today and send you the link.

love that you strip away follower counts entirely and pit everyone from the same starting line, honestly that takes guts and makes the whole thing feel way more honest than your typical social app.

did a quick duel with my coworker on who makes a better sandwich and honestly the live voting thing made it way more fun than i expected
