I'm a student and I spend a lot of time watching short-form videos on platforms like Instagram, YouTube Shorts, and Pinterest.
One thing I noticed repeatedly was that whenever a video had a great song, the comments were filled with people asking "What's the song name?" Often nobody answered, and even when they did, the answer was sometimes incorrect.
I experienced the same frustration myself. Existing music recognition tools work well when music is playing live, but I wanted a simpler way to identify songs directly from videos and video links.
That's what inspired me to build TrackTune.
TrackTune allows users to find songs by pasting a video link, uploading a video, or recording audio through a microphone. My goal was to make music discovery faster and easier for anyone who finds great songs through social media content.
This is also my first public web application, so building TrackTune has been both a learning experience and an opportunity to solve a problem that I personally face almost every day.
