I built Tova Cities API because I needed a focused city and country API, and every option in front of me was either bloated, unpredictable, or both.
The big providers wanted a credit card and a meter. Free tiers came with "don't cache, don't store" fine print. SDKs shipped with twenty methods I'd never use, pricing tiers I had to memorize, and enough billing complexity that I caught myself overthinking every API call.
