TouchGrassBar
Codex and Claude usage, limits, and a public leaderboard
TouchGrassBar is a free, open-source macOS menu-bar app for Codex and Claude users. See provider limits, observed token usage, trends, and approximate API-equivalent cost. Compare daily usage with friends on a public leaderboard. Profiles, aggregate usage, scores, and ranks are public; prompts, conversations, credentials, raw logs, and file paths stay on your Mac. Apple Silicon and macOS 15+.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
I built TouchGrassBar because it is fun to see what everyone else burns too.
I wanted one small place to see Codex and Claude limits and observed token usage. Then I added a public leaderboard because the comparison is part of the fun.
TouchGrassBar lives in your Mac menu bar and shows:
- Provider limits
- Usage for today, 7 days, and 30 days
- Trends and approximate API-equivalent cost
- Public friend and global rankings
The privacy boundary matters. Profiles, aggregate daily usage, Token Scores, and ranks are public. Prompts, conversations, credentials, raw logs, and file paths stay on your Mac.
It is free, open source, and available for Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 15+. The current release is v0.0.22.
I would love feedback on the onboarding, leaderboard, or usage history. What would you improve first?
